Isulong SEOPh after June

By Benj Arriola - Posted on Sat Jul 1, 2006

The first week of june was Markku Seguerra’s game with isulongseoph.net relying on the the very strong PR power of rebelpixel.com. He stay on the top spot for a while when many others started popping out. Although Benj Arriola’s isulongseoph.com seemed to be the perfect domain, it was nowhere to be found, at least not in the first 5 pages. Almost every domain was starting to be bought with all sorts of extensions. And as some said that the all the good domains are gone, it took a long time before someone bought isulongseoph.ph and isulongseoph.com.ph. I guess it is the higher price to pay for a .ph domain that it took quite a while for someone to buy the domain.

The contest awards the top 7 ranks in the Isulong SEOPh contest, and the current top 7 are:

Gio Castro’s isulongseophil.com

When his site was just entering the SERPs, I really still vividly remember that Yahoo detected a lot of lhis backlinks from a major sponsor of this contest. The links were so many, it looked like a sidebar link or something similar that was present in all pages of his blog. But when I checked it out, it was no longer there. I did not investigate further to find out how things were done, but it just verified to me what support he may have. Search engines reindex pages that are updated often and you can see he is not working that much on getting reindex with often adding in new content. Nor is he building his content to be viral enough to cause natural linking. But it looks like he is doing one hell of a job in natural link building. *whew* what a task. People with full time jobs or full load in school may have a hard time catching up on the natural link building he is doing and that is like a full-time job to me. With my last check, Yahoo siteexplorer was showing 522 pages linked to his site. Although Yahoo will list everything even the nofollows. isulongseophil.com has been on the high spot for the longest part of June so far and has gone down to position 2 or 3 for brief moments, so brief it just could have been a reindexing propagation issue between datacenters when he went below number 1.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 14 (G), 9 (Y), 11 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 1,100 (Y), 131 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 273,749

Rostum Hernandez’ isulongseoph.org

He’s got the whole thing going on also, you can see the RSS feed and social bookmarking all prepared. There are some links that go to directories that are required to do reciprocal linking for free listing. He has an interesting post pointing out isulong-seoph.com’s efforts in using adwords to help organic listing. Unlike Gio’s isulongseophil.com with blank meta tags for keywords and descriptions, Rostum got the description in there. He has a blank robots.txt although it is present.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 11 (G), 21 (Y), 5 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 728 (Y), 72 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 1,232,315

Alfred Palconit Jr.’s isulongseoph.offshoreoutsourcingphilippines.com

A very active blogger. MSN sees 79 pages on his blog so far. Also a creative artist playing with images to get more attention and possible link bait. Was trailing behind Gio’s isulongseophil.com for some time after Rostum push his site on notch below. He’s got the complete meta tags in there, has robots.txt also along with Google sitemaps using the default sitemap name.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 13 (G), 29 (Y), 79 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 111 (Y), 102 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 473,555

Jedi Dancel’s isulongseoph.ph

Actually I am not even 100% sure this site is by Jedi Dancel. The dot.ph whois is not the best whois in the world. But just going in and out or websites weaving from information to information, it was just going deeper and deeper. Until tsikot.com started to emerge. I still remember tsikot.com in the late ’90s, it was running Miva back then just like my early websites where I first made server-side scripting. But this digging deeper and deeper may have me driving to the wrong person. Maybe isulongseoph.ph is not Jedi Dancel’s but I think it is. And through finding out, I have been jumping from these big portal sites, from one to the other. They have some PR value and are large sites. But most of them, I did not even find any isulong seoph link on them, which also makes me doubt this domain belongs to Jedi Dancel. I see some link negotiation going on, but it is not the first I have seen. He has more pages indexed than Alfred’s isulongseoph.offshoreoutsourcingphilippines.com. I wonder how much help he got for having a dot.ph domain and ranking well on google.com.ph and if that benefit will also be seen on isulongseoph.com.ph after Google’s next reindexing.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 43 (G), 22 (Y), 94 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 164 (Y), 653 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 1,676,051

Alwin Clores’ bicolbusinessdirectory.com/isulong-seoph

Interesting blog. A long blogrolling, Miss Isulong that you never wish to see, some Mr. Isulong SEOph super flying dude, which is Whin’s picture, art work of Manny Pacquiao, a sexy photo of Angel Locsin, and photos of Spiderman 3. Since BBD is a big site that is frequently updated, it has tons of pages on that domain, and yet it is still a bit new and qualifies as an entry being a 2006 domain name. But even with many pages indexed, his Isulong SEOph pages are 60 known to Google. But either way, your entry is anything that lies on your domain.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 60 (G), 1 (Y), 23 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 107 (Y), 32 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 579,486

Elymar Apao’s isulong-seoph.net

One of the best I have seen so far. His SEO Comics has been a hit in major Search Engine Optimization forums and blogs worldwide. He has been getting links from very trusted domains. This has one of the most effective viral attacks I have seen unlike the viralness of isulong-seoph.com that seems to be trying hard to get the viralness into it.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 83 (G), 47 (Y), 277 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 123 (Y), 577 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 303,152

Jason Angelo C. Yance’s isulong.seoph.org

Also another site using heavy tagalog language like isulong-seoph.com. He has various topics and trying to get the nationalistic reader. And also noting that the theme maker of his Wordpress blog is Filipino-American Derek Punsalan. He has been recieving some squeezed juice from Abe’s Yugatech blog, and all other blogs Abe handles like MCP. Probably the more inbound links so far a competitor has. Other than the number of links, I see nothing special going on. And since this is the same case with isulongseophil.com, leading by sheer numbers, this site might make a sudden overtake.

The Numbers

  • Indexed Pages: 43 (G), 8 (Y), 75 (M)
  • Backlinks: 0 (G), 23,848 (Y), 1,842 (M), 0 (A)
  • Alexa Traffic Rank: 1,115,759

My Predictions

That June’s Isulong SEOPh top 7 websites. isulongseophil.com was leading by the numbers and with support from one of the top sponsors on the initial backlinks gave him a good push. But if it is really a numbers game, then isulong.seoph.org should not be far behind and may be seen climbing up the rankings more. isulong-seoph.net has been creating a viral machine and is continuing to spread his links creatively and I expect him to climb up more as well.

Support from one of the top sponsors? who? I didnt know that.

I remember after 3 days when i started my isulongseophil.com blog entry i made it to rank 2 but i dont think its because of any support from any of the sponsors you are talking about. I hardly know them. Except for Bitstop cos i work there before as a computer technician. But the only i link i found from their bitstop.com.ph site was my comment there before. Look: http://bitstop.com.ph/archive/2006/06/02/4425.aspx#FeedBack

Anyways, its a great review! :)
